The role of Experimental Stress Analysis at graduation and post graduation courses - A Brazilian case
Abstract
This paper presents an alternative to the theoretical classic teaching methods generally used in Strength of Materials or Solids Mechanics. It introduces a dynamic and interactive process, with emphasis in the use of ESA-Experimental Stress Analysis, especially strain gauges and photo-elasticity. In addition to the didactic and practical experiments, the students used all their energy and creativity to develop the interesting results presented here, such as, experimental device for measuring displacement, Buckling, Spaghetti and Popsicle sticks Bridges, Stress analysis in a cylinder block and Mini Baja project. © (2010) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Drag reduction by polyethylene glycol in the tail arterial bed of normotensive and hypertensive rats (Artigo de Periódico)
Bessa, K.L.; Belletati, J.F.; dos Santos, L.; Rossoni, L.V.; Ortiz, J.P. (Associacao Brasileira de Divulgacao Cientifica, 2011)This study was designed to evaluate the effect of drag reducer polymers (DRP) on arteries from normotensive (Wistar) and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Polyethylene glycol (PEG 4000 at 5000 ppm) was perfused in the ... -
Superficial residual stress, microstructure, and efficiency in similar joints of AA2024-T3 and AA7475-T761 aluminum alloys formed by friction stir welding (Artigo de Periódico)
Perandini, João Paulo Buoro; Bordinassi, Ed Claudio; Batalha, Mario Henrique Fernandes; Carunchio, André Ferrara; Delijaicov, Sergio (Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2021)Friction stir welding (FSW) represents a conceptually simple technique that consists of joining either similar or dissimilar solid-state materials through higher plastic deformation rates. FSW is an important technique in ... -
