Comparison of results obtained in fed-batch ethanol fermentation tests carried out with constant feeding rates and with periodic additions of the feeding mash

Abstract

Fed-batch ethanol fermentation of sugar-cane molasses carried out adding periodocially (time interval = 15 min) the mash to the reactor led to ethanol productivities similar to those obtained when constant feeding rates were used.
