Efeito da adição de etanol à gasolina na emissão de gases do efeito estufa

Abstract

The addition of ethanol in the gasoline, as it is of public knowledge, reduces the emission of greenhouse gases when compared with those proceeding from the clean gasoline. In despite of the long tradition in this area, Brazil does not have a systematic study, including measures, which shows the effect of the addition of ethanol in the emission of each type of gas. Although there are limitations in the methodology, the emissions of greenhouse gases of the fleet of vehicles in Brazil provide a database to study the effect of the addition of ethanol in the gasoline. Also, there were analyzed the variation of the emission factors of NOx, CO and volatile organic compounds - VOC because there exist systematic measures of those gases and, inside of the combustion environment, there is a narrow linking among those gases.
