Time domain analysis of transient electromagnetic fields in conductors
Abstract
Time varying electromagnetic fields in conductor media can be analyzed in terms of the current density vector, usually defined by an integral equation, whose analytical solution is possible only in simple configurations. For complex structures, numerical procedures are employed and, among them, the Moment Method can be applied, leading to matrix-form equations. Solution for transient electromagnetic fields problems can be obtained in frequency domain, but in this case Gibbs phenomenon strongly affects the accuracy of the procedure. An efficient time domain computational procedure based on the Moment Method was developed and it is presented in this paper with an example of application. © 2005 IEEE.
